You are nearing the end of your law degree and no doubt are close to making a very important decision which will impact your career for the next 30 years - where to complete your practical legal training (PLT) program in order to be admitted as a legal practitioner. PLT is a compulsory requirement to be
admitted as a barrister and solicitor in South Australia. Once
admitted in South Australia you can apply for a practising
certificate in other States and Territories without seeking
further admission. For over a decade, the Law Society of South Australia has offered a PLT program in the form of a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP) that is designed to accommodate the needs of law students from local and interstate universities. We have a proven ability to offer students the skills they need to succeed in law. The GDLP is considered superior by many South Australian law firms as it gives students practical legal training with an emphasis on the local jurisdiction. In addition, the course is designed and taught by practising South Australian Judges, barristers and solicitors to equip you with the essential practical skills needed for legal practice. We work hard behind the scenes to ensure that you have the best opportunities - all aimed at building strong CV's and successful futures. "The Law Society's GDLP is ideal
for people who want to begin their legal careers in South Australia
as it teaches South Australian law and procedure, and is taught
face-to-face by members of the South Australian profession".
