President's Message

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Law Society of South Australia's website.  The Society has been the voice of the South Australian legal profession since 1879 and we are very proud of our tradition.

Our mission is to serve and represent our members, to enhance the legal profession in South Australia and to preserve the integrity of the justice system.

It is a privilege to be President of the Society at a time when significant change is occurring nationally in the regulation of the profession.  It is not possible to predict what will be the eventual outcome of the reform process.  What is clear, is that there are obvious advantages in having a workable and consistent model for the conduct of legal practice across the country.

There has never been a more important time for members of the profession to join their professional association to contribute to and influence these changes and I urge you to consider becoming a member if you are not one already.
