The Law Society of South Australia provides a number of services to assist practitioners to reduce the pressures of practice and improve their health and well-being.

LawCare

LawCare offers practitioners the opportunity to discuss with a general practitioner who has experience in treating social and psychological problems, any problem that is interfering with or has the opportunity to interfere with their work performance. 

Lawyers' Support Group

The Society provides Members with access to a panel of experienced lawyers willing to assist colleagues with personal and professional problems.

Young Lawyers' Support Group

For young lawyers seeking independent guidance from experienced colleagues.

Well-being & Resilience Committee

The Mental Health and Well-Being Committee was established to develop and oversee a program to promote discussion, debate and drive issues regarding matters relating to mental health and well-being of members of the profession, including psychological distress and depression.

Lawyers' Complaint Companion Service

The Society provides assistance and advice for solicitors who are the subject of a complaint to the Legal Profession Conduct Commissioner. It is an adjunct service to the Lawyers Support Group.

Well-being & Resilience Guide

The Guide is a booklet devoted to keeping lawyers’s bodies and minds together.  It has been produced by the Well-being & Resilience Committee and the Risk Management Unit of the Society with the help and funding from the Professional Services Council. 

Well-being & Resilience Online Programme

The programme has been developed as a way of engaging with members of the South Australian Legal Profession on the important topic of mental health and well being.
