This popular event is a great opportunity to connect with your fellow practitioners and build a network to support you. A networking opportunity will follow after the session with canapés and drinks.
This is the third of the 4-part series of this event with the CPD session on Practical Legal Ethics.
Ethical Obligations in Sole & Small Practice
Join us for an interactive discussion between Werner van Wyk (Acting Director Ethics and Practice at the Law Society of South Australia) and two experienced practitioners Lisa Christo and Will Gray, exploring ethical issues which can be faced by small practitioners.
About the Panel:
Werner van Wyk - Acting Director (Ethics and Practice), Law Society of South Australia
Werner was first admitted to legal practice in South Africa in 1998. He then worked in private practice for 12 years before moving to Australia. He was subsequently admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the SC of SA in 2013 and has been working in the Ethics and Practice Unit of the Law Society for the last 10 years.
Lisa Christo - Associate Director, NDA Law
Lisa practices in tax, estate planning, and commercial law, holding memberships with the Law Society of South Australia, Tax Institute of Australia, Family Business Australia, and AICD. She excels in simplifying complex tax issues and guiding succession planning decisions for individuals, SMEs, and family businesses. Lisa is an accomplished educator at the University of Adelaide, teaching tax law and directors' duties, and has a notable record of board positions and awards in her field.
Will Gray - Director, Gray Matters Legal
With nearly a decade of experience in succession law and fifteen years in volunteering and coaching roles, Will was motivated to launch Gray Matters Legal not just to practice law differently, but to practice law better. He believes in providing clients with a comfortable, transparent, and enjoyable experience whenever possible, bringing empathy, warmth, and humour to his work. Outside the office, Will enjoys excelling on the squash/racquetball court, trying his hand at various sports, volunteering with community organisations, watching sports or comedies, and exploring new craft beers at local breweries.
