Presenters: Dr Loretta Reiter, MLCOA & Guy Biddle, Finlaysons Lawyers

Join us for an engaging and discounted 90-minute CPD session focused on the assessment of impairment for musculoskeletal injuries for medico-legal purposes. Dr Loretta Reiter from MLCOA will delve into critical diagnoses such as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and injuries of the upper and lower limbs. She will explore the factors that assist doctors in conducting these assessments effectively, while Finlaysons Partner Guy Biddle will provide essential legal observations. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of the presenters, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the legal implications of medical evaluations.

About the Presenters:

Guy Biddle heads up the Employment & Workplace Safety Team at Finlaysons Lawyers. He is a highly skilled litigator with over 30 years of experience in workplace law, general insurance and civil litigation, including providing advice and representation in the South Australian Employment Tribunal in relation to workers compensation claims for registered and self-insured employers. 

Dr Loretta Reiter is an experienced and well-respected Consultant Rheumatologist, with particular interests in Musculoskeletal Medicine and Sports Medicine. She is skilled in providing impairment assessments and reports. Dr Reiter has spent several years working as Coordinator of Clinical Training and Staff Specialist at Concord Hospital, and currently serves as Honorary Visiting Medical Officer at the Hospital. 
Dr Reiter’s role at Concord Hospital involves regular student teaching, particularly in the area of Rheumatology. Dr Reiter was responsible for Senior Resident Medical Officer, Resident Medical Officer and Intern Training, term allocation and rostering. 
Dr Reiter has presented papers at several Scientific Meetings and has been published in Surgical and Scientific Journals. Dr Reiter is accredited as an Independent Medical Examiner with WorkSafe Victoria and an Independent Impairment Assessor with WorkCover Tasmania. She also holds several permanent impairment accreditations in NSW.
