Presenter: Dr Hayley North, Neuroscientist at Understand Your Brain

Work smarter not longer! In this session we uncover natural tendencies of the brain that reduce productivity then learn strategies to boost focus and creative problem solving. In an industry with a multitude of factors competing for a lawyer’s attention, we discuss how to regain control and reduce the growing emphasis on ‘pseudoproductivity’. We discuss the detriments of constant task switching and learn time management techniques that will allow us to effectively schedule the mentally demanding tasks.

About the Presenter:
Dr North founded Understand your Brain because she is passionate about communicating neuroscience research for everyday application to improve lives. She has a PhD in neuroscience and dedicates her life to a scientific understanding of the brain and sharing that understanding with the wider community to improve well-being. Her laboratory research and publications uncover molecular and genetic changes in mental illness. But it's Hayley's contagious enthusiasm and ability to explain complex topics to non-scientists that has engaged audiences around the world to implement positive and lasting change.
