About the session:
SafeWork SA in the spotlight – managing your clients’ duties and protections during safety investigations and prosecutions.

With the recent announcement by the Independent Commissioner against Corruption of an evaluation into SafeWork SA, now, perhaps more than ever, legal practitioners must be aware of their clients’ obligations and protections during safety investigations and prosecutions.

Patrick Barry of Howard Zelling Chambers and Jane Powell of Elliott Johnson Chambers, are two practitioners with extensive experience in representing corporate duty holders and individuals during SafeWork SA investigations and prosecutions. Patrick and Jane are often involved in the same matters representing different duty holders.

In this session, Patrick and Jane will discuss:
. What is a notifiable incident and how to manage that process;
. Dealing with SafeWork SA in relation to the provision of information
and documents;
. Managing the needs to all duty holders and the importance of
separate representation; and
. Understanding the delicate relationship of co-accused in safety
prosecution
