3 CPD Units in Professional Skills
Please note that this session is a repeat of Family Law Training Workshop 1 on 29 April 2019.
The Advocacy Committee of the Law Society offers an opportunity for advocacy training, by qualified and experienced advocates and judicial officers, in a small group setting (maximum of 5 per group), on this occasion to those who practice in family law as advocates or who wish to do so.
This course is directed to those who are starting out as advocates or those who seek to refresh their skills and techniques in a courtroom setting. It will include a short presentation (by a qualified and experienced psychologist) on anxiety management, followed by a presentation on etiquette and court manners, in a realistic courtroom setting under the guidance of experienced practitioners.
This Advocacy Training is for people with all levels of experience, however, as should be reasonably apparent this event involves participants in preparing and presenting as if in Court on the basis of material distributed prior to the event and requires prior preparation. If you enroll, you must do the necessary preparation and it is expected that you would be fully prepared to the best of your capacity, in order to participate in the exercise.
