On 5 March 2020, the Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Kate Jenkins released the Respect@Work Report - the Australian Human Rights Commission’s National Inquiry into Sexual Harassment in Australian Workplaces.

Kate Eastman SC will present an overview of the Respect@Work Report and its key findings. Respect@Work raises a number of issues for the legal profession to consider from professional conduct rules to managing claims.


Kate has over 27 years’ experience in dispute resolution and advocacy in employment, discrimination law and sexual harassment law. She appears for individuals, governments, for multi-national and Australian ASX 200 corporations, partnerships and small business in a range of matters including internal compliance audits, internal grievance and disciplinary procedures, mediation, advisory work and litigation. Kate is ranked in the Doyles’ Guide as a preeminent Senior Counsel in Employment Law for Australia and NSW. Her work has been recognised in The Best Lawyers in Australia 2020 for Human Rights Law and Employment Law.

Kate regularly participates in mediation and conciliation of complex and multi-party disputes. She acts as a mediator in such disputes from time to time. Kate is also an experienced teacher. She is a Senior Fellow of the Faculty of Law, Monash University. She teaches a range of post-graduate international and Australian human rights laws courses.
