The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, significant changes to the regulation of aged care from 1 July 2019 in relation to matters such as the standards by which the quality of care is measured and comparability of pricing of home care services. Increased interest in and debate around the use of in-room CCTV cameras, the use of physical and chemical restraints in aged care as well as the significance of 30 June 2019 for retirement villages with the first mandatory ‘buy-backs’ coming into effect. All these will be covered in this broad ranging session to offer practitioners an update on issues currently affecting the retirement and aged care sectors and the latest regulatory responses – both in place and proposed.
