1.5 CPD Units in Professional Skills

Presenter: Bill Fragos - Special Counsel - Moray & Agnew Lawyers

Recent events have highlighted the importance of the obligations that come with collecting, holding, using and disclosing personal information. The privacy and security of personal information continue to be an ever-present concern. There is a current focus regarding whether privacy laws in Australia are adequate and fit for purpose, especially with increased digitisation, whether there needs to be a greater awareness of privacy obligations and whether privacy obligations are sufficiently enforced.

This presentation will provide an update regarding the laws and principles governing privacy in Australia, including notifiable data breaches, as well as consider recent developments and privacy law proposals.
