Admission to Practice

Applicants who have completed a South Australian LLB and GDLP are eligible to apply for admission as a legal practitioner in South Australia.

If you are studying a double degree, please note that you will not be able to obtain an official transcript of completion for the purposes of admission until both degrees have been completed. Please confirm this with your university as it may affect the timing of your admission to practice.

Applicants who have completed an LLB awarded by an Australian University outside of South Australia, must have their LLB qualifications accredited by the South Australian admitting authority, prior to applying for admission.

Applications for accreditation of interstate qualifications are made via the Legal Practitioners Registry which is located at the Law Society.

Applicants with overseas legal qualifications will be assessed on an individual basis based on accreditation of their overseas qualifications by the South Australian admitting authority. Applications for accreditation of overseas qualifications are made via the Legal Practitioners Registry which is located at the Law Society.
