1 CPD Unit (Professional Skills)
The Small Practice Committee is pleased to offer all four required CPD units. These events provide an excellent opportunity not only to meet your CPD requirements but also to network with likeminded legal professionals.
Each session will be followed by a relaxed networking opportunity, where you can connect with peers over light refreshments and nibbles. Please note that spots are limited for each venue, so be sure to register early to secure your place. The series is open to all legal practitioners.
Session 4: Drafting Effective Settlement Deeds
Presenters: Jessie Murphy-Allen, Murray Chambers
CPD: 1 CPD unit Professional Skills
This session is a practical presentation on the drafting of settlement deeds in day-to-day legal practice, with particular emphasis on clauses that most often give rise to difficulty: confidentiality and non-disparagement provisions.
The session will move beyond theory to focus on how settlement deeds operate in practice. It will provide clear a practical guidance to assist practitioners in preparing settlement deeds that are enforceable, realistic, and aligned with client objectives, while avoiding unnecessary complexity or risk.
