The Law Society's Professional Advice Service (PAS), Lawyers' Complaint Companion Service (LCCS) and Young Lawyers' Support Group (YLSG) can provide Members and all legal practitioners with access to advice from experienced lawyers relevant to personal or professional problems they may be experiencing.
This service provides legal practitioners with assistance with personal and professional problems in their legal practice, including assistance across all fields of practice.
These areas include, but are not limited to, matters such as:
To use this service, please contact one of the legal practitioners who has been appointed to this service directly, using the details below.
This service is available to legal practitioners who are the subject of a complaint to the Legal Profession Conduct Commissioner with the Law Society providing assistance and advice.
Practitioners in receipt of a conduct complaint can receive an hour of free advice. The service is provided by a panel of experienced practitioners. If more than one hour is required, some of the practitioners on this panel may be able to provide further assistance. It will be a matter of negotiation as between the companion and the practitioner in relation to ongoing fees.
This support group gives new and emerging lawyers the opportunity to seek independent guidance from experienced legal practitioners in the South Australian legal profession.
The Society in conjunction with its Young Lawyers Committee has established a group of practitioners who have agreed to assist, where possible, young lawyers who may feel the need for some independent guidance from experienced colleagues. This might include a concern about bullying, discrimination or harassment.
