Statement on the Bondi Beach attack
15 December 2025

The Law Society of South Australia extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of those killed in the horrific incident at Bondi Beach.

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this shocking event.

This senseless display of violence goes against everything that Australia stands for. The true Australian spirit was personified in those who heroically risked their lives to save others.

We stand with members of the profession and community who are affected by this tragedy, particularly our colleagues in New South Wales and those who are a part of the Jewish community.

South Australian legal practitioners are reminded they can access the Law Society’s counselling service LawCare.

The service is available to legal practitioners, or members of their immediate family, or other staff of law firms, or law students, to assist with personal issues they may be struggling with.

To make contact with LawCare’s counsellor, Dr Jill, please call the LawCare Counselling Service answering service on (08) 8110 5279, and leave your mobile telephone number. You will then receive a return phone call, so that an appointment can be made at a mutually convenient time. To ensure confidentiality, it is best to leave your personal mobile number rather than a workplace number.
