Law Society launches State Election Platform hub
The Law Society has released its 2026 State Election hub, which will publish State election updates that relate to the legal profession and justice system.
This online resource includes explanations of the Law Society’s key State Election priorities, responses from political parties to the Society’s State Election platform, and summaries of pre-election announcements that relate to the legal sector, with analyses of these policies.
Law Society President Marissa Mackie and Chief Executive Diana Newcombe have met with several Members of Parliament to discuss the Society’s key priorities. These meetings have been listed on the State Election hub.
This webpage will be updated as more parties submit their responses to the Society. And more law and justice policies are announced ahead of the 21 March Election.
The Society’s key asks relate to enhancing the courts system, introducing important legislative reforms, investing in diversionary youth justice measures, strengthening the criminal justice system, supporting the growth and professional development of the local profession, and enhancing access to justice in regional areas.
