The Law Society actively represents the interests of its Members and the broader community by influencing policy and legislation through submissions to government, opposition parties, the courts, and other relevant bodies, whether invited or initiated independently.
When preparing submission requests, the Law Society consults with relevant stakeholders, including its Select and Special Interest Committees, and seeks input from Members through InBrief. If you are interested in joining a Select or Special Interest Committee, you can learn more about the Expression of Interest process here. To view submission requests currently under consideration, refer to the latest issue of InBrief here.
You can search submissions from 2023 onwards below and view submissions from 2019–2022 in the accordions below. Submissions prior to 2019 have been archived. To access a specific submission from 2011–2018, please contact the Policy Unit via email.
