In collaboration with the Law Society's Wellbeing and Resilience Committee, we bring you this CPD and networking event. In this session, Anita will bring a new perspective on the growing mental health focus within the profession from her 15 years of experience in both the private and community legal sectors, with an engaging talk about protecting your mental health. This session will benefit all practitioners, with discussion moving from identifying potential triggers and concerns, to seeking help and helping others.

You will learn this:

• Identifying common themes in practice which impact your mental health, and how to prevent these from becoming larger issues
• Identifying mental health concerns, in yourself and others
• What to do if you or someone you know is not okay, including taking steps to seek help without impacting your career
• Establishing protections to prevent mental health deterioration

For those attending in person, this session will be followed by networking drinks and selection of appetizing canapes from Taylor and Holmes, from 5:30 to 6:30pm.

About the Presenter:
Anita commenced practice in Tasmania in 2009 where she worked across Family Law, Child Protection, Family Violence and assisted in Criminal and Estate Matters. In 2018 Anita relocated to South Australia and has worked in private practice specialising in Family Law Matters along with her varied work with the South Australian Law Reform Commission and University of Adelaide. Having worked in private practice, community legal sector and Academia Anita brings a unique perspective to how mental health can impact life and practice.
