This session will explore the prohibition, under the Family Law Act, of communications which identify of parties, witnesses and persons connected to proceedings. Previously, section 121 set out these prohibitions. Section 121 will be repealed, and replaced by Part XIVB as part of the
changes commencing on 6 May 2024
, as a result of the Family Law Amendment Act 2023.
This presentation will explore these amendments to the Family Law Act, as well as the court's powers arising out of part XIVB.
